Pick and Mix Preproduction work Storyboard and animatic

Here are the story boards and animatic for my preproduction short, with voice talent from myself (there is no talent).

The story follows Inspector Bergamot, an aging detective with a reputation as a great cop. The only thing he loves more than his job, is his favourite food, a good spicy curry. Bergamot loves spices of all kinds; he's quite the enthusiast. He can tell what a spice is, it's origins and who uses it where just by sniffing a pinch of it between his fingers. However, his love for all things spicey is not met with the same enthusiasm from his co-workers and even his own late mother, ridiculing him for having such a silly passion that will
'do him no good'.
However on this dark and gloomy night in the middle of no where, a murder has been committed on board a train that will test Inspector Bergamot's knowledge of criminal minds, and maybe - just maybe, that silly passion of his will help him crack the biggest case of his career!

Throughout this project, I made sure to meticulously stick to Tomi Ungerers style, even the story itself was made with his past books and childrens cartoons in mind. In Tomis stories, they teach tolerance and understanding, the character is always someone who is an underdog, a misfit, who finds a reason to belong and not feel so lonely. I wanted to convey this in my own story, as if it were written by Tomi himself; I can only hope I've done him justice.
