In the last week there has not been a lot of art work being produced, mainly because I was dealing with the technical side of the project, in the sense I was not very well.
Emma Walsh volunteered to be the producer for Crocodile Tears and help out with all the organising and technical stuff on the project, so far she's proven a HUGE help, she has created:
- A Google Drive account for the whole team to share project related work with.
- Contact sheet (the sheet with all the contact information for each team member, allowing us to contact them with ease should we need to).
- Production Schedule
- Shot breakdown and Shot planning sheets (these will show with team member is working on which shots, how long they will be and what needs to be in them).
- Animator packs (what will be given to each animator on the Google Drive so that they will have everything they will need to animate the shots they're assigned to)
- Broke up the individual shots of the animatic, allowing easier access for animators.
- As well as creating things, Emma has also booked out rooms to hold meetings in, arranged said meetings and times, and is in the process of recording a sound studio for recording the voices of Victor, Kathryn and Griftie.
I also got to work on making a hard copy of the animation packs, these folders will be given to the animators so that they will always have the model sheets, guides and instructions for animating Crocodile Tears, even when not at a computer or with internet access. it also allows the animators to have the model sheets and references around them, instead of having to constantly flick between windows and constantly having to click links to open new reference guides, which cause deter them from using them, thus affecting the quality of the animation.
On top of all this, we also held our first production meeting that went very well!
In all, 13 people signed up, 11 of them attended, and at least 5 other people want to work on the project. I am very excited by the prospect of a large team working on this, it will get made much faster and we may even get to make the whole film, completed and coloured.
